Original vintage black and white photograph of Louis Mountbatten, the last Viceroy of the British Indian Empire, inscribed to Sergei Petschnikoff. Inscription reads, “To Captain S.A. Petschnikoff Louis Mountbatten Oct ’43–Aug ’45. S.E.A.C.” Mountbatten was not only a major military leader but also a mentor to his great nephew, Charles, Prince of Wales.
