Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from Mike Quashie stating that Jimi gave the guitar strap to him at his Bedford Street Apartment. In the book "Jimi Hendrix: The Intimate Story of A Betrayed Musical Legend" Hendrix recalls befriending Quashie who he said was "[g]roovy about loaning me money or asking if I had a place to sleep...the day came when I was able to repay his help and his dollars with interest."
