Lucille Ball Arnaz signed check to Director of Internal Revenue for $125. 00 on March 29, 1954, housed here with a black and white photograph of Desi and Lucy at home standing in front of a window. Desilu Productions, Lucy and Desi’s company, was a leader in changing the way situation comedies were shot. Karl Freund, their cameraman created a multiple camera set up style that used several sets at once that became standard for all situation comedies until today. This use of film allowed stations around the country to broadcast high quality images of I Love Lucy. Desi allowed Freund to design a set for an audience, thus bringing live audiences to attend. The Network did not want to pay for the extra film used so Desi agreed that Desilu would pay for the film if they could own all rights. This deal allowed Desi to profit from all reruns of the series. Verso has color copy of reverse of check showing stamps from Internal Revenue. Framed, 25 ¼ by 17 inches Categories: Lucille Ball
