A necklace owned by Steve McQueen. The interlocking chain holds a silver and turquoise medallion that is inscribed on verso, "Dear Steve With Gratitude And Affection. David THE GETAWAY." The necklace is from David Foster, producer of The Getaway (Solar Productions, 1972). It was on the set of The Getaway that McQueen and Ali MacGraw began the relationship that led to their 1973 marriage. When previously sold, Neile McQueen said of this necklace: "David Foster gave Steve this medallion after the filming of The Getaway . Unfortunately I don’t have any photos of Steve wearing it, but as you can see he wore it a lot."
