A typed, signed letter from actor Kirk Douglas to Johnny Cash, written on Kirk Douglas stationery. In the letter, dated May 22, 2003, Douglas shares his condolences on the passing of June Carter Cash. Reads in part, "Like so many millions of other people I was sorry to hear about June, but it brought back many present memories of when we were working together...Think of the Joy of pleasant memories and forget the pain of the unpleasant ones...You have given so much to the world and the world shares your grief. I hope we can get together again and I can sing to you 'A Boy Named Sue'." Signed "Kirk."
