A wide-brim rich velour grey fedora hat with black grosgrain ribbon, lined in cream silk and tan leather. Marked "3957Helston/Size 7 1/4/Lock & Co. Hatters/St. James's Street/London" and monogrammed inside the leather head band in gold lettering "F.A.S." There is also a handwritten date inside the head band "14-9-78."
