A dark grey felt fedora with black grosgrain band, worn by Frank Sinatra in his role as New York police sergeant Edward Delaney in The First Deadly Sin (Filmways Pictures, 1980). The hat, made by Jay Lord Hatter in New York, has Sinatra’s initials “FAS” stamped in gold on the interior sweatband as well as the maker’s stamp. Jay Lord Hatter’s logo also appears on the silk interior. The film, produced by Sinatra, co-starred Faye Dunaway and would be Sinatra’s final starring role. The fedora remained in Sinatra’s possession until 1981, when he gifted it to his costumer and friend Michael Castellano. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Castellano, original fedora box from Jay Lord Hatter, and a copy of the film. Categories:
