A copy of Day Dreams (New York: Macfadden, 1923) by Rudolph Valentino gifted to Mary Pickford. A handwritten letter from Valentino to Pickford has been pasted to the endpaper. Written on Fairmont Hotel stationery, the undated letter is addressed to “Gladys,” Pickford’s given name, and reads in part, “Would love to see you and have you for tea, dinner and supper. Have called repeatedly on the telephone but could not get any answer.” The letter is signed “Rudolph Valentino.” 5 1/2 by 8 inches Categories: Rudolph Valentino
