Bird Box. Maker unknown (likely Bland), ca. 1890. Finely crafted hardwood box 4 ¾ x 3 x 4 ". A playing card or other flat object is placed into the box and the lid is shut. When the lid is later opened, the card has transformed into a live bird. Exterior worn.
