Maple High Chest of Drawers, New London County, Connecticut, c. 1760-80, the upper case with five graduated thumb-molded drawers set into the lower case with long drawer, three short drawers, and valanced apron joining cabriole legs with arris knees and ending in pad feet on platforms, ht. 74, wd. 37, dp. 19 in. Estimate $2,000-4,000 the drawer dovetails are slightly different in the two sections, and the mid-molding has been replaced. side edges of backboards are reeded. As a result, this is a possible married piece. At least two drawers look to have new elements, many have significant thumbmolding replacement, and the cornice molding has replacements Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
