Diminutive Carved Tiger Maple High Chest of Drawers, Newburyport, Massachusetts, mid-18th century, the upper case with molded cornice and hidden drawer above four thumb-molded graduated drawers, set into lower case with projecting mid-molding above two long drawers, the lower with three-drawer facade centering a concave carved fan, and shaped skirt centering a pierced pendant, all joining four cabriole legs with arris knees ending in pad feet on high shaped platforms, original brass, old surface, (very minor imperfections), ht. 70 3/4, lower case dp. 18 1/2, lower case wd. 35 1/2 in.
