After Abraham van Blyenberch (Flemish, act. 1617-1622) Portrait of Benjamin Jonson (1572-1637) Unsigned, sitter identified on a presentation plaque and misattributed to Cornelis Jansen, with a label from the Reading Public Library and Art Gallery, Pennsylvania, on the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 25 1/4 x 19 1/2 in. (64.0 x 49.5 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch, varnish inconsistencies, dimples to u.r. quadrant, old repair u.c. N.B. Abraham van Blyenberch was known to have worked in London, and the portrait of Ben Johnson in National Portrait Gallery, London, has been attributed to him. Provenance: The estate of George Way.
