Carson by the men of his Company as a mark of esteem/Washington D.C. Nov. 21st 1861," dia. 53 mm, 123g. Note: Lieutenant John Carson served from January 1861 to June 11, 1864. Serving in the 27th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, company F, Washington, DC, in 1861, he was promoted to Captain April 18, 1863.
