Carson, 27th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, Joshua Johnson, 25 Church Street, Liverpool, no. 18368, engine-turned case with roman numeral dial marked "Josh Johnson 25 Church Street/Liverpool," with sunk seconds, key-wind, key-set, swing-out movement, diamond endstone, and engraved as above, cuvette engraved "To Lieut John M. Carson by the men of his Company as a mark of esteem/Washington D.C. Nov. 21st 1861," dia. 53 mm, 123g. Note: Lieutenant John Carson served from January 1861 to June 11, 1864. Serving in the 27th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, company F, Washington, DC, in 1861, he was promoted to Captain April 18, 1863.
