Inlaid Mahogany Tall Clock, signed "S. Willard," c. 1790, pierced fret-top case with freestanding stop-fluted columns flanking the arabic numeral painted iron dial with gilt painted tomb of George Washington in the arch, seconds and date aperture, signed "S. Willard" in script, brass-fluted quarter columns flanking the cross banded and string inlaid waist door, string-inlaid case bottom, all resting on ogee bracket feet, eight-day time and hour-strike movement, regulated by a brass-faced pendulum and two cast iron weights, ht. 92 in. with finial. Estimate $5,000-10,000 feet with restoration, appears to have period fret with black stain on back side, signature lacking crazing, original seat board, three period finials, old refinish, partial period directions label on case interior.
