Model 1858 Artillery Forage Cap, c. 1861-65, blue broadcloth body, with brass crossed cannon insignia over a brass "4," leather visor and chin strap with general service eagle buttons, brown polished cotton liner with maker's label on the crown marked "M. & G./No. 6/N.Y.," with a brown leather sweatband. Provenance: The collection of Ron Tunison. Estimate $1,500-2,000 Some moth nips and wear on the broadcloth, and the liner and sweatband are intact.
