Yellow-glazed Staffordshire Francis Burdett Commemorative Jug, England, early 19th century, bulbous shape with silver lustre trimming black transfers to either side, one with portrait inscribed "The determined enemy of corruption & the constitutional friend of his SOVEREIGN," the reverse inscribed "Sir Francis Burnett Bart M. P. Committed to the Tower 6 April 1810 by the House of Commons for firmly and disinterestedly asserting the legal rights of the British people," ht. 4 1/2 in. Estimate $500-700 Lustre wear along the top rim. No evidence of any cracks, chips or restorations throughout. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
