Matched Pair of Wedgwood Black Basalt Milton and Shakespeare Figures, England, 19th century, each modeled standing atop a rectangular shaped plinth and leaning on a stack of books, Shakespeare with scroll exposed beneath the books, a verse in gilt, ht. 16; and Milton holding a scroll with gilt verse, ht. 16 1/8 in.; impressed titles and marks. Estimate $1,000-1,500 Shakespeare: Broken through at shoulder and simply reattached. One finger broken off and reattached. Milton: In very good condition throughout.
