Imported French Foot Officer's Sword and Scabbard, c. 1861-65, brass hilt with an eagle and flags, wire-wrapped shagreen grip, blade has light engraving of foliate designs (some dark spots) and stamped on the ricasso "1864/US," and a steel scabbard with brass fittings, blade lg. 30 3/4, overall lg. 36 3/4 in. Estimate $300-500 Hilt has some patina but in good condition. Blade has light engraving and some dark spotting, scabbard has a few small dents. Overall in good condition.
