Signed, titled and dated to verso Crockett Johnson 1967 Involution in a Circle (Gerard Desargues). Cartoonist, book illustrator and author Crockett Johnson is probably best known for his iconic children’s book, Harold and the Purple Crayon. However, in 1965 Crockett began a series of over 100 works relating to mathematics and mathematical physics, 80 of which are housed in the permanent collection at The Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. 1967
