Likely English, 18th century (circa 1760-1780). A George III period walnut armchair, the oxbow crest terminating in chip carved knuckle ears and central pierced splat over molded shoe, the cyma curved arms with scroll handrests surmounting outwardly curved supports, the trapezoidal seat upholstered in coral damask with floral pattern, resting on squared front legs and raking back legs joined by an H-shaped stretcher. Approximate height 35.5", width 24.75", depth 23", seat to floor 17". Provenance: From the Estate of Henry G. Muecke Jr., Atlanta, Georgia.
