18th/19th century having a molded cornice with canted corners above a door, raised on flattened bun feet, painted throughout to depict village scenes and trees. Height 73 x width 43 x depth 19 inches. Provenance: Steve Tipton Antiquarian, Louisville, Kentucky Scattered areas of surface wear and instances of loss and flaking to the painted decoration consistent with age. Scattered age splits throughout consistent with age. Instances of worming throughout. Some shrinkage gaps to the back boards. Wear to the feet in the form of scratches, abrasions and minor areas of loss. Lock plate likely replaced.
