Life-sized Austrian Painted Terracotta Figure of a Boy Fishing, early 20th century, likely Goldscheider, naturalistically modeled with green cap and trousers and yellow jacket, happily holding a fishing pole and seated on an associated oak barrel-back armchair, ht. 45 in. Note: This figure was affectionately called "Joey" by Richard Wright and his friends. Scattered chips and paint losses throughout; both feet and lower legs heavily restored; attributed to Goldscheider, c. 1920.
