Ethel Wallace (American, 1885 -1968), "Untitled (Ruins Along the Creek)", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Impressionistically rendered landscape painting depicting a verdant riverbank with the remains of an old riverside structure, likely the old mill ruins at Aquetong Creek in New Hope, Pennsylvania, overgrown with vines and other foliage. With inscription to frame verso "Ransom Rambo Studio". Framed approximately 47" x 37.5". Unframed approximately 39.5" x 29.75". Note: Ethel Wallace's work has been exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Society of Independent Artists, the National Academy of Design, the Phillips Mill Art Association, and Grand Central Galleries.
