Thomas Pitts, London, 1788 with eight foliate scroll branches issuing floriform collars supporting four oval and four circular pierced baskets around a larger oval basket, five baskets having glass liners and each engraved with an eagle crest, the stand formed as four bowed supports enclosing a pineapple, all joined to a dished oval base centered with acanthus leaves surrounded by a fluted band, engraved at both sides with a mantled coat of arms and the motto PRUDENS SICUT SERPENS, on foliate feet. marked on stand, arms and baskets 230 ozt 14 dwt Height 22 1/2 x width 28 x depth 20 1/2 inches.
