Attributed to Henry Collins (British, ac. early 19th Century) Portrait of the British Ship Lady Gordon Entering Liverpool Harbor. Unsigned, ship identified on bow and pennant, shown leeward view, starboard tack facing right of picture. Oil on canvas, 34 1/2 x 36 3/4 in., in a molded gilt frame. Condition: Lined, repaired tear, minor scattered retouch. N.B. The ship was built at Whitehaven in 1817 by John Scott. James Turner was master and Thomas Scurr & Co. were owners. St. Paul's and St. Nicholas Church as well as the Tower Buildings are shown to the left and center of the view.
