Classical Carved and Stenciled Mahogany Veneer Dressing Bureau, attributed to Edward Holmes and Simeon Haines, New York, 1825-29, the stepped-back drawers hold the acanthus carved scrolled mirror supports and the stenciled mirror over the black painted and gilt stenciled convex frieze drawer and the two large stenciled drawers, flanked by ebonized and stenciled columns ending in crisply turned front feet; the rear feet are rectangular and tapering, some pulls may be original, old refinish, (very minor imperfections), ht. 65 1/2, wd. 37, dp. 22 in.
