Federal Cherry Inlaid Tall Case Clock, probably New England, c. 1790-1800, the pierced fretwork joining three finials on reeded plinths above the glazed tombstone door opening to polychrome and gilt decorated dial showing an urn flanked by birds in the arch, floral spandrels, seconds hand and calendar aperture with brass eight-day weight-driven movement, the molded waist door with central panel of inlaid eagle, shield, and star device bordered by quarter fans and stringing, the base with oval panel bordered by quarter fans and stringing all on shaped skirt joining French feet, old refinish, (imperfections), ht. 92 in.
