Early Boxed Grand Kabuki Theatre Tamabasuro Doll, Japan, early 19th century, composition/gofun doll, narrow pupil-less black eyes, open mouth, slender face, articulation at neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip (pelvic piece swivels), knees, and ankles, with cloth at upper arm, (minor fine crazing on cheeks), wearing partial paper wrap, has short wig on head and five extra wigs for various Kabuki theatre roles, housed in original segmented box with paper label, includes set of colorful priest robes, Samurai warrior outfit with accessories and two Samurai unmarried lady kimonos, one gold striped, one gray, doll ht. 12 1/4; box 17 x 8 x 3 1/2 in.
