Eugenio Zampighi (Italian, 1859-1944) A Tale of Far Away Signed "E Zampighi" l. r. Oil on canvas, 27 1/2 x 36 in. (69.8 x 91.3 cm), framed. Condition: Puncture u.c., scattered retouch. N.B. Eugenio Zampighi was born in Modena, Italy and began his studies there, developing an interest in art at a young age. A scholarship brought Zampighi to Rome, where he spent three years before settling in Florence. Once in Florence, he began to paint the colorful and lively scenes of domestic interiors for which he is best known. The puncture is about 1/2 inch and is "C" shaped. The retouch is minor dots and dashes scattered about.
