Portrait Miniature of Twins Charles and Henry Tebay with a Lamb, England, 1793, subjects identified in inscriptions on the reverse "Sweet Babes, This miniature likeness of my dear Twins, Charles and Henry Tebay-taken at one year & half old/August 17th 1793 (signed) Catherine Tebay" watercolor on ivory, showing the boys wearing white dresses with blue sashes, seated and holding a lamb by a blue ribbon collar, 3 1/2 x 2 5/8 in. , mounted in a gilt quillwork and beaded frame with brass bezel, encased in a glazed mitered wood frame. Condition: Very good.
