Molded Sheet Copper and Cast Iron Horse and Jockey Weather Vane, America, late 19th century, full-bodied figures with copper stirrups, reins, and bridle, verdigris surface with traces of gilt, including black metal stand, (imperfections), total ht. 19 1/2, lg. 31 in. Please note that this weather vane was displayed on a table at the White House on June 2, 1976, during a State Dinner honoring King Juan Carlos I of Spain, held by the Ford Administration. A copy of a letter of thanks from President Ford and two color copies of pictures of the event are included in this lot.
