Albrecht Dürer (German, 1471-1528) Virgin and Child with the Monkey, 1498, a late impression (Bartsch, 42). Monogrammed in the plate. Engraving on paper, plate size 7 1/2 x 4 7/8 in. (18.9 x 12.4 cm), framed. Condition: Trimmed to or within the plate mark, toning, staining, not examined out of frame. The impression is very late, and the plate very worn. The sheet looks to be adhered at the corners and the middle of each side. There is staining to the lower corners. Although it has not been removed from its frame, there are no other visible condition issues to report.
