Attributed to David Claypoole Johnston, (Pennsylvania/Massachusetts, 1799-1865) Harbor Scene. Artist identified on a label affixed to the reverse. Ink, gouache, and graphite on wove paper, purportedly depicting a Boston Harbor scene drawn for an early banknote, 4 1/8 x 4 7/8 in., in a later molded wood frame. Condition: Light toning. Paper is hinged ffixed at the top with conservation tape.
