George III Silver Tea Urn, London, 1771, Charles Wright, maker, egg-shaped, the peaked lid chased and embossed with leaftip, with urn-form finial, body with husk garlands, beaded loop handles ending in leaves and berries, tap with bifurcated ivory handle, stem with further leaftip, and square base with further swags, side pierced with scrolls and acanthus, ogee gadrooned rim, and scrolled acanthus feet, engraved to back with mottoed coat of arms, ht. 22 in., approx. 92 troy oz. front of body with round section (approx. 3 1/2" dia.) cut out, and replaced (likely removal of engraving). top join of one handle tobody likely repaired. marks good. minor age wear and a few light dings/pinpoints.
