French Goldwashed . 950 Silver and Etched Colorless Glass Claret Jug, late 19th century, the tapered ovoid colorless glass body molded with panels, and etched with flower-filled urns, foliate scrolls, and stylized torches, with silver neck mount and base, short spout with lid with acanthus thumbpiece, with pierced fluting topped by acanthus and fruiting grapevine, base similarly styled, and with trumpet foot with husk wreath-rim, ht. 11 1/2 in. age typical mellowing to goldwash. body compressed onto foot somewhat. maker''s mark EE.
