French, early 20th century. French gilt metal jewelry casket or box in rectangular form, the conforming hinged lid with raised cartouche centering the oval plaque painted with interior courting scene signed lower right by the artist 'Olivier' and set under glass. The raised cartouche is also detailed with three dimensional raised ornamentation of flowering urn and trailing berried laurel with a green enameled glass surround, all applied via tiny clips through the interior of lid. The interior base and lid lined with gold and floral decorated fabric. Box is raised on four bracket shaped feet. Marked to the underside with impressed "France". Approximate height 3.62", width 10.12", depth 7.5".
