Pair of Needlework Pictures, possibly Folwell School, Philadelphia, early 19th century, the pictures done with silk threads and watercolor on a silk ground, one a mourning picture depicting a woman grieving over an urn-topped monument inscribed "In Memory of an Affectionate FATHER," beside a weeping willow tree, the second picture shows a young woman seated outdoors on a rock, inscribing "LET VIRTUE BE YOUR GUIDE," on an oval tablet, with a tree and shrubbery in the background, both in an eglomise oval mat, 7 1/4 x 8 in. , in original molded and beaded giltwood frames.
