John Anansa Thomas Biggers (American, 1924-2001), "Family Ark"-1992, triptych of lithographs in colors, edition noted, signed and dated in graphite "42/100 John Biggers '92". Multi-figural triptych composed of three distinct lithographs, the central print depicting a figure kneeling before an altar, the figure with arms outstretched such that his posture resembles that of a cross, the altar composed of additional figures wearing head scarves and crested with figural panel with horses and elephants, the lithograph on the left depicts a figural sculpture of feline form in an altar niche, the lithograph on the right depicts a figural sculpture of elephant form in an altar niche. Framed approximately 41.5" x 62.5". Flanking lithographs sight approximately 29.5" x 14". Central lithograph 29.5" x 21.5". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Dr. & Mrs. Calvin Wayne McLarin, Atlanta, Georgia.
