Attributed to Pieter Hardime (Flemish/ Dutch, 1677-1758). "Flowers in Wicker Basket", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Painting in the traditional Flemish Baroque style with still life at center resting on surface and backed by very dark solid plane, the floral arrangement gathered in a woven straw basket and comprising of roses, irises, carnations, and other small flowers with the bouquet loosely arranged and wholly contained within the basket which is set upon the left end of a table draped in deep green cloth. Label to verso of frame "Old Hall Gallery, Ltd. Iden, Rye", an important Sussex gallery. Framed approximately 29.5" x 37.5", unframed approximately 23.625" x 31.625".
