ATTRIBUTED TO W. A. BOUGUEREAU (FRENCH 1825 - 1905), OIL ON CANVAS, 36" X 29", "VIOLETS":Signed and dated W-Bouguereau 1880 (?) in lower left. Having an antique gilt wood frame. Depicting a three quarter length portrait of girl with flowers. Provenance: from the private collection of a daughter of the late Major-General A.M. Spencer of Spencer Hall on the Fourth Concession of London Township; the estate appraisal was done by Jason C. Gardner of The Auction Galleries (Gardner Galleries) when the Major-General died many years ago - it was hung in that family collection and subsequently in his daughter's collection; it was sold by Gardner Auction Galleries, London, Ontario on June 16, 1986, lot #93; subsequently sold at auction by DuMouchelle Art Galleries.
