A silver tone metal plate presented to Pelé by the city of São Paulo, Brazil, on September 29, 1974, when he played in the Santos FC vs. Corinthians match at Estádio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho (Pacaembu stadium) in the Pacaembu neighborhood of São Paulo. Corinthians won this Campeonato Paulista match, 1-0. It was Pelé's second to last match before he retired from playing for Santos FC on October 2, 1974. The plate features the City of São Paulo coat of arms and the inscription "e nós Paulistanos vamos continuar, para sempre, com sua extraordinária imagem" [And we Paulistanos will always remember your extraordinary image].
