A September 16, 1970, City of Los Angeles certificate presented to Pelé by then Los Angeles Mayor Sam Yorty proclaiming September 20, 1970, "Pele's International Soccer Day" in Los Angeles and urging "citizens of our City to join with me in extending greetings to him and to members of the Santos of Brazil and the Guadalajara of Mexico teams.
