Max Ernst, illustrator (German, 1891-1976) La Brebis Galante, by Benjamin Peret, published in 1949 by Éditions Premières, Paris, edition of 300, containing three etchings plus twenty-one pochoir illustrations (Leppien, 28). Sheet sizes 9 1/4 x 7 1/2 in. (23.4 x 19.0 cm), paper bound. Condition: Very minor wear, staining to edges of pages. Provenance: Arthur H. Minters, Booksellers New York, 1966. There is wear to the corners and edges of the book jacket. The pages of the book are slightly loose, and are gently toned. Subtle acid burn to end papers from glassine dust jacket.
