Small Brass and Steel Wheel Cutting Engine, Switzerland, second half 19th century, the vice-held and bow-powered tool for cutting crown wheels, 3 1/2 in. indexing plate with eight rows for cutting 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19 teeth, pivoting steel arm with curved finger loop, and cutter which adjusts on three axes, with thumbscrew fasteners, lg. overall 6, ht. 6 1/4 in.
