William Cummens Mahogany Tall Clock, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1795, painted iron dial with Roman numerals and signed W. Cummens , floral sprays in the spandrels and moon's age in the arch, rectangular waist door with line and fan inlays flanked by brass stop fluted quarter columns, the lower section with fan inlays and two-stage base molding, eight-day brass time and strike movement powered by two brass-cased weights and regulated by a pendulum, ht. 96 in. Lacking ogee feet, fret is an old replacement, repairs to side supports of backboard behind movement, movement wants cleaning.
