William Cummens Mahogany Inlaid Tall Clock, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1795, fret-top case with fluted plinths and brass finials, brass stop-fluted freestanding columns flanking the 12-in. powder blue roman numeral painted iron dial reading Wm. Cummens Roxbury , with raised gilt floral spandrels, and a depiction of a woman in the arch, brass stop-fluted quarter-columns flanking the full-length molded-edge, string and fan inlaid waist door, with similarly decorated base, all resting on a two-stage molded base and delicate ogee bracket feet, brass eight-day time and hour strike movement, regulated by a brass-faced pendulum and powered by two cast iron weights, ht. 86 in.
