William Dunlap American 1766-1839 Pair of Portraits of a Gentleman and Lady. Oil on Wood. Each signed and dated 1831. Both boards signed en verso "W Dunlap". 28 1/4 inches x 23 3/4 inches. Condition-Both surfaces quite dirty with old varnish build-up. Some crazing. Several Abrasions to edges and one area of Lady. We need restoration. Original Empire Frames with losses and wear. Note: The artist was a co-founder of the National Academy of Design. (3000/4000)
