A three-piece hounds tooth plaid skirt suit compose of: an open jacket with Peter Pan collar and patch pockets, lined in off white satin.; A box pleated skirt, below knee hem and zipper closure at back; with a matching fringed scarf. The suit was chosen by Edith Head to represent Helen Hayes in the film Airport (Universal, 1976) for a fashion show. Head was nominated for an Academy Award for this film and Helen Hayes won the award for Best Supporting Actress. The ensemble originally came from Head’s Personal Collection. Categories:
