An emotional six-page letter written by Dietrich to her husband, Rudolf Sieber, in original transmittal envelope dated Feb 17, 1945, and opened by "U. S. Army Examiner." Dated "received 2/24 45" in Sieber's hand. Letter pertains to their alarming financial situation as well as his failure to write to her. She questions his spending habits, as their money seems to be "dwindling," and is unhappy about the fact that Rudolf will not work himself, yet continues to spend her money on himself as well as his mistress' cancer treatments. Reads in part, "...But I cannot go on like this anymore. Because if it goes on like this I will come back, tired out, and I will have to work again to have some money for myself. I think that is a little unfair..." Signed "Marlene." Letter, 10 3/4 by 8 1/4 inches Categories: Marlene Dietrich
