First edition, large page copy (quarto), illustrated with fourteen plates (of fifteen), of which twelve are hand-colored (including the frontispiece), the two folding plates at the back are uncolored; lacking the facsimile letter from Nelson meant to be found after the preface; bound in full straight grain morocco, with a nautical fore-edge painting of a naval review by George III at Spithead; contents good, final folding plate repaired, 12 1/2 x 9 3/4 in. Provenance: The Estate of David Spinney.
